Yesterday I found myself in desperate need of a new pair of flats. For work of course! I do stand for up to eight hours…but besides my glee from purchasing some stellar black flats, I was stoked to see that Aldo’s was making some green choices. Instead of stuffing my shoe box into an over sized plastic bag, which will only end up in a land fill or strangling some poor seagull(!), they added handles to their boxes. Brilliant! I walked the five blocks home swinging my shoe box with a smile on my face.

Small changes like a simple rope handle can have huge impact. It’s estimated that the U.S alone goes through 100 billion plastic bags a year. And between 500 billion and a trillion plastic bags worldwide. Imagine if everything had a handle?! Haha…can’t picture the couch.
