I have definitely been there. I think most of us have. I used to think "come on...where is your professionalism?" I had an awful day today at work. I was irritated that the people I was working with were "acting like children" and I wanted them to just grow up. The thing is I realized that they were having fun at work and were happy while my day was dragging and I was grumpy. Seems as though I need to take a page from their book and lighten up a bit. I agree that life completely piles up on us. Finding the areas where we can poke holes in our cover is the tough part. I felt completely trapped by life back in SF. Too much work and not enough living. I think it just takes a switch our mindsets. We can work ourselves to death or take a pay cut and enjoy the little time we have. It's a constant balancing act. All those awesome feelings when i was a kid and not a care in the world....Really brings be back to being happy for no reason. Life just seems to piling up as you get older and you really do need that "kid" reminder to keep you going. Now that is a great question. In my freer moments, I am definitely more like a kid. I play with things; playfulness becomes my general disposition.
