@Kristin- It still completely kills me that recycling isn't required in all 50 states. Sooner or later it will have to go mandatory. Composting too! Recycling has been huge in California for some time now, but I am so happy to see composting going mainstream. I've heard that Seattle is really green and eco minded as well. A big reason a lot of people bop between the two cities.
@Colin- I won't be headed back to oz anytime soon :( I made the leap back home knowing that I needed to save for several months in order to make my next move to Europe. It would have been Sydney or SF and I chose SF. And though it's dreary and cold here, I am happy to be back in the buzz of this fantastic city.

Nice! I think they already require this (or something like it) in Seattle, and last time I was there most people appreciated it as a nice touch rather than dreading having to complete the extra step every time they cooked.

Kudos, San Francisco!

So when do you head back to Oz? Or do you? I still want to meet up when I'm there early February, if possible!

Love it! Seattle requires recycling. It's part of the reason I moved here. Glad to hear SF is just as cutting edge!
