Run Free. Create Your Own Shoes

At the moment I haven’t worn shoes for over a week. I’m grounding in the pleasure of wiggling my toes in jungle soil and crystal white sand of Bali. And while I dance and teach barefoot when I’m home in San Francisco, flexible and light shoes are important to protect my soles between clients and classes. At this point I hope you’ve read my postsand watched my videos on foot strength, alignment and flexibility. You know how much I adore and burn holes in my toe sox.

A few months ago I thought I’d try Nike’s ridiculously light and flexible athletic shoe called Nike Free’s. I bought a simple black pair with a pink sole. I’ve taken them all over the world, hiking the high desert trails of Mount Kuchima and running on Anguilla beaches.  I recently learned you can design your own using Nike’s Facebook Application! I was so inspired by the ideas from the world gallery that I designed Epic Self Frees!

Have you ever designed your own shoes or clothes?

NIKEiD is the ultimate customization experience and allows our consumers to take their unique inspiration and express it within our Nike Product, which results in a perfect intersection: personalized looks on the best performance athletic performance gear in the world.

Hi Amber, I love them, I’ve had mine a couple of years and they’ve even been in the washing machine a few times:) Just bought a pair for my seven year old daughter too:)
