The Wellness Phone: Carry Your Personal Trainer In Your Pocket

“Wellness” phone from DoCoMo Inc
Thats right! A brand new prototype out of Japan targets busy, health conscious people. This phone can take your pulse, check your body fat, time your jogs and tell you if you have bad breath. It even assesses stress levels and inspires you with a pep talk.

The Wellness mobile phone from Japan’s NTT DoCoMo Inc. has a built in motion sensor that can sense what type of movement you are doing and then calculates the calories you burn. Wondering about your heart rate or body fat percentage? Just touch the pulse sensor on the top of the phone. Test your breath by blowing into a breathanalyzer hole on the side for a few seconds. And last but not least, answer a series of questions to test your stress level. For example:

When the busy spokesman answered “Yes” to a series of questions — including “Do you feel lethargic?” and “Do you go to bed after midnight?” — a message appeared on the screen warning he was under a lot of stress.

“Don’t worry, tomorrow’s a fresh new day,” the phone then flashed. “Keep your chin up!”

Alright! Some inspiration! The Tokyo based company has not set a release date and unfortunatley doesn’t sell over seas. Perhaps if it creates enough buzz DoCoMo Inc. just might have to start shipping them out.
