What else can Amy Winehouse do to get herself into headlines? Well sadly, today it’s a whole different problem. The skeletal star with the gorgeous voice is now under the spot light for her bulimia eating disorder. Close friends report that they are more concerned about her eating habits than her drug abuse! That’s pretty hard to imagine since Winehouse was taken to the hospital in August for overdosing on several drugs. Apparently, Amy has been bulimic since her teens and her friends fear, at this point, that she will never recover.
Bulimia is an extremely serious eating disorder that effects a person physically, mentally and spiritually!! If you suspect a friend or loved one suffers from Bulimia, here are some warning signs to watch out for:
-Engages in binge eating and cannot voluntarily stop.
-Uses the bathroom frequently after meals.
-Reacts to emotional stress by overeating.
-Experiences menstrual irregularities
-Has swollen glands
-Experiences frequent fluctuations in weight.
-Cannot voluntarily stop eating.
-Is obsessively concerned with his/her weight.
-Attempts to adhere to diets, but generally fails.
-Feels guilt or shame about eating
-Feels out of control.
-Has depressive moods.

I am just now learning about eating disorders from my latest read distorted, very interesting stuff, I never knew it was a disease???
okay so amy winehouse is like a drug attic and yet you guys only want to send her to rehab for a week? all shes going to do is go out and do the same thing she was doing before again she needs to stay in there for a week or two if shes mad because she can’t record any music than thats her fault she decided to do drugs, if you people don’t help her she will die
it’s her own problem, why does everyone think that it is their responsibility to heal her? if she’s a drug addict or has an ED then the only people that should try to get her help should be her closest friends and family. unless anyone actually knows her personally really well, then it’s not your concern.
this eating disorder is very difficuld to deal with and is increadably disstressing to the person suffering with the dissorder, i have and sill suffer from bullimia, and the things pepole say about Amy, i belive are to be very out of order as you are not in her shoes so you cant possibly understand how she feels. Bulimia is a desease and is difficult almoast impossible to recover as it says in this artical. I still am suffering from the eating dissorder and have been for years i am now 18, she does need help, but its if she wants it. I love amy winehouse and her musice, amazing tallent, get help Amy. x x x
Man, poor girl. Maybe she’s an awful role model, maybe she’s caused all her problems, maybe she’s a junkie, a bulimic, a mess…well that jus makes me hope harder she’ll find herself somehow.
I’m 21. I’m a junkie, an anorexic / bulimic, a former-self harmer. THe 1st 21 years of my life have been dominated by drink and drugs and sex and heart break, scars…in every way possible I’ve starved, because I am starving.
Even now, when life is better than I’ve ever known it…I don’ know how to cope with that.
My heart goes out to this girl. She’s the sorta’ girl I avoid these days, a feral person, I can have near me…because I’m still weak, but my thoughts go out to her and hope -along with every other thought of her out there- one day they’ll reach her.
God bless.
I hope, by the time you read this, you’ve been well on your way to recovery. I don’t judge those who struggle with addiction or eating disorders or mental illness…and I firmly believe unless you have experienced any of them and the hell they cause, you cannot fathom what someone has gone through. I’ve never been addicted to anything but I can attest to the pains of a wretched, dismal depression, bulimia, and severe anxiety. I’d never wish it on anyone…and I only hope those afflicted by any of this finds peace.
Best wishes to you.
RIP Amy Winehouse
