Pilates Mat technique is one of the most powerful and potent tools in my transformation toolbox for my core workout.
Movement is quite literally my medicine. As a dancer, I had many acute and chronic injuries that threatened to sideline my professional dance dreams. I was in chronic back, hip, and Achilles pain with no clear method to fix the root of these issues.
Then in college, I was introduced to pilates mat as part of our dance conditioning program, and my pain vanished within two weeks of consistent practice.
After that, I knew I had found something special and went on to get certified in mat and all the apparatus for my body and to help others.
For the last 10 years, I’ve had the pleasure of teaching dance, pilates, yoga, and meditation all over the world. From destination spas to festivals to my own studio in Costa Rica, it’s been a fabulous ride.
15 years later I still practice pilates every day. It keeps my body balanced, strong, and flexible. I owe my 8-year dance career to pilates and am forever grateful I discovered the method at such a young age.
