I was waiting to find my purpose, waiting for the day I would feel better, waiting to feel consistently happy with myself and my life, waiting to have the energy to manage my day to day. Waiting…waiting…waiting. 4 years ago I hit a wall with myself. I was literally feeling paralyzed like I smashed into a brick wall. My life was feeling stagnant. I had no clue what was going to help me feel better and help me move forward.

For the past 10 years I had suffered from digestive and hormonal imbalances, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, depression, anxiety and my body was continuously reacting negatively foods I was previously ok eating. In the effort to find answers to heal and balance my body, I went from one specialist to the next. The only solutions presented to me were prescription drugs that were not going to heal my body of the root cause of my health problems. The root cause of what I was actually suffering from was never discussed. The discussion mainly revolved around how to manage my symptoms. In addition, added side effects from taking the medications were not enjoyable. Some of the medications actually aided in developing other health problems. I was also told to eat healthy and to make sure I worked out 3 to 5 times a week.  I found this incredibly frustrating! I was eating what I knew to be healthy. I made sure to get my fruits and vegetables in and stayed away from processed foods. I was spending a lot of money on healthy choices of food, but my digestion was still progressively getting worse. I also tried many fitness plans that only left me feeling wiped, unable to coup with life and demotivated. This was unacceptable to me.

I was left feeling like I was going through a huge demotivating run while with my symptoms were continuously getting worse, and leaving me feeling completely broken down by the medical system. It was then that I decided to be an advocate for my own health and well-being. I decided to seek out the world of natural science and the method of healing through holistic means.  It was a world I had never known before. To be honest, I felt quite sketchy about it at first, but I was desperate.  I did some research and found a practitioner under the holistic umbrella. She was able to target the root causes of my ailments and educated me on how I can better my health. Another very powerful piece she taught me was that I did in fact have the power to heal myself. Although it all made sense, I was still skeptical because I had tried so many things before and it did not work. But, I was desperate and feeling like I was at the end of my rope. I decided to follow her recommendations and protocols.

Within two weeks I saw huge improvements in my body and relief from my symptoms, That’s right! Only two weeks!  This was after my health was steadily going downhill for years and years, I was in shock! It was like a eureka moment. Like the clouds had finally parted and the sun was shining so brightly on me. Relief! An answer! A solution for all my ailments. The run around I had gotten from our ‘modern’ medical system had left me feeling like maybe I was crazy to be feeling all this. But I continued making changes to my health, by making changes in my diet, filling in the nutritional gaps with the right supplements that my body needed, and some day to day lifestyle changes.  In a matter of months, I was peeling off the layers of my debilitating symptoms.

I thought to myself, there are thousands of others, needing help, and waiting for a solution…Waiting as I did. If I can do it, I can teach others to do the same. I found my purpose, my reason for going through all that I had. By ridding the body of imbalances, I can help clear anything that is holding them back from happiness and feeling amazing. I decided to go back to school and learn everything I could about healing the body naturally. Through extensive research and education through the Institute of Holistic Nutrition, Canada’s leading nutritional health institution; I now help people change their lives like I have. I do not believe in overcomplicating nutrition, implementing fad diets, or one size fits all approaches. Instead, I am interested in helping people achieve optimum health in a way that is sustainable and makes the most sense for them and their lifestyle. When we address the root cause and take an all encompassing approach, there is no limit to the results we can achieve.
