We’ve been craving some delicious raw breads after a few days eating raw vegetables and fruits, and this Raw Vegan Basil Bread hit the spot.  The psyllium gives it a spongy texture that we were able to use it as sandwich bread, toast, and as a pizza base.

 

Ingredients

1 cup psyllium husks

2 cups ground flax seeds

1 handful of shredded fresh basil

2 teaspoons of garlic salt

Water as needed – 1/2 cup max

 

Method

Add all ingredients, except water,  into a bowl and mix.  Adding a little water at a time, kneed the dough for 5 minutes.

To dehydrate – lay the mixture flat on paraflex sheet, 1/2cm thick.  You can spread the mixture across the entire sheet, and cut it into slices when done.

Dehydrate on 115 for 12 hrs.
